I love listening to Rammstein. Perhaps the only band that's formed in the past fifteen years that I really and genuinely like. Buncha nutters, the lot of them.
They're the only reason I took German last year in school. Seriously. The counselor asked, "Which foreign language would you like to take?" I looked around. No Japanese. Hmf. Oh, but they had German. Rammstein sings in German! "Deutsch, bitte." He nodded. "Why do you wanna take German?" "Because I like industrial German heavy metal."
Yeah, the administrators never really took a liking to me. The teachers loved me, except Frau Schlenker, but all the people who actually ran the school had it out for me (i.e., telling me that if I spent any more time off recovering from a big surgery that made me a walking biohazard for about eight months, I would have to be in high school until I was 21--which is why I'm no longer in school). The librarian liked me, the science teachers liked me (I was one of Dr Kilgore's favorites--I know very little about physics, but I brought him Beatles and Who and Jefferson Airplane CDs, which he played in class; he said it was awesome, because it was a good change from rap).
The only thing I regret about dropping out of school is that I left him with only one half of Pink Floyd's The Wall. I didn't have any more blank CDs to burn, so I ended up with a Jefferson Airplane CD, about half of the Beatles' CDs, and the first half of The Wall.
Otherwise, I have no problems with it. Not now, at any rate. I don't plan on getting a conventional job for quite a long time. (A note to people who say "OMG BUT YOU WON'T MAKE ANY MONEY": plz to be es-tee-eff-yuu-ing. I'm not concerned with money at all. I'm not concerned with having a big house, a car, children, a husband, a dog, or really anything beside a sleeping bag, food, and water. I want to get the hell away from a society that demands all these things of me and piles so much fussing and suffering through material goods on me.)
A random note: I'm going to find whoever designed the "Glacier of Doom" level on Neopets' Hannah and the Ice Caves and I'm going to hit them with a stick.
