I think it's sad when religions that claim to be religions of peace publicly attack each other, each one claiming supremacy over the other.
Look, folks: I love you all. I'm sure God/Goddess/the Grand Cosmic Muffin/whatever it is you worship loves all of us too. Look at all God/Goddess/the Grand Cosmic Muffin/whatever gave us that's good--sunrises, sunsets, puppies, kittens, rivers, rainbows, mountains, beaches, love, smiles, hearts, the wind, friendship, hope... Of course, you have to take the bad with the good. It's inevitable. We also have death and despair on our plate. These things are a part of nature. Our bodies simply don't last indefinitely; we eventually die. But the things between birth and death that cause so much trouble are mostly human-created: arguments! hatred! nuclear weapons! war (yes, I admit that animals fight, but it's more a territorial, instinct-driven response, rather than full of actual malice)! Let it go, folks. We've made up our own hell and built a wall so high around it that we can't get out.
Let's tear down this wall that we've constructed. Let's tear it down and allow peace to grow over the ruins.
Returning to my original point: Looking around at world religions, it appears that, no matter which Messiah/prophet/sage/saint/Grand Poohbah you subscribe to, our job is to attain inner peace and spread peace to one another. And, in most cases of world religions, we're suppose to love one another as we love ourselves, practice tolerance, and all that.
Somewhere, we went astray. Let it go, folks. You only live once, and life is too short to spend it screaming and panicking the entire time.
Hug a tree, hug a lesbian, snog a gay guy, listen to some black metal, get stoned, do whatever you please. You've got but one go-round (in this particular body). Enjoy it while you can. Chase your dreams before it's too late to do so.
But remember the most important things of all: Love and peace.
I should really stop posting at 3 AM.
