What Goes On

A random bunch of goings-on from a bored (possibly sleep-deprived) hippie-Neopagan-Goddess-worshipping-loony.

Dad explained to me why he never lets me play any music: "I'm old. I've heard all of the music you like; I'm just about burned out on the Who and the Beatles and all of them."

If it's any consolation, Dad, I would gladly trade ages with you. In fact, I wouldn't mind being older. So I could've seen Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin and the Doors in concert. And the Who with Keith and John. And the Beatles. And the Monkees. And Zeppelin and Airplane and the Dead and Iron Butterfly and Crosby Stills Nash and Young... most of the people I want to see or meet so badly are either dead, really old, or it'd cost my mortal soul to see them anyway.

Being young is overrated. Being young is pretty cool--you don't have as many medical problems, you can blame your problems on the previous generation, and you're not so cynical yet.

But being young today is overrated. I wish I had been young when the Beatles were young. I wish I could've been to Woodstock or the Isle of Wight or the Monterey Pop Festival.

What is there to see today? Just about bleedin' nothing. Most music that's come out in the past 15 years sucks (except for Rammstein and the bands/singers that have been around before that.)

Come to think, maybe that's something to look forward to--a Rammstein concert! I wonder if they'll ever come back to America? I think it would be awesome to see them. I love Rammstein. Bunch of goddamn lunatics, the lot of them. Who happen to have flaming masks strapped to their faces, flaming boots on their feet, and flaming coats draped over them. XP

I'd really like to see the Who on the American part of the tour this year, but so far, the closest date we've got is in New York City.

We live in southern North Carolina.

Looks like I'll be taking off on a hitchhiking trip and learning how to desperately beg for tickets outside of a major concert venue this September. XDDDDDDD Unless, by some grand cosmic MIRACLE, they come to Virginia or South Carolina or Georgia.

But the way my luck's going, they'll probably avoid the Southeast altogether.
